Mission Impossible: But Not With God!

Long story short, our week in the DR was nothing short of incredible.

It was wonderful to see these young people experience the world outside of America for the first time. To see them step into the ministry space created for them and to embrace the people with their hopes and struggles wholeheartedly. And to begin to discover their own identity in Christ and walk into it.

Every day we began serving the community by cleaning, painting, building relationships & whatever else we could do to help. In the afternoons we led a VBS for the children of the community. While the biggest frustration for everyone was not being able to speak each other’s language, everyone was amazed to learn by the end of the week God’s love transcends every barrier. Language, culture, race, gender, class. Love that changes hearts. We watched the older boys grow from physically fighting each other the first couple of days to cheering on and encouraging one another.

I think most of us will agree that Wednesday was our favorite day. We got to pray for a precious family that lives behind the church we were serving. Three boys live with their grandmother who is blind. Their mother and father have left them to fend for themselves and often only get fed by the church. On Wednesday morning we had the opportunity to pray for them. Prayers that shifted the atmosphere and words of life spoken over their futures. And on Wednesday night we got to take part in a church plant, sharing songs, testimonies and again prophesying life over the precious people of the DR that we had grown to love with all our hearts.

On our last day, the goodbyes were hard and the tears were unstoppable as the team began to process through the week and make plans for the future. It is always hard to think of going back to normal life after a life changing experience. But I believe in every single one of these young people and every single person we ministered to. I believe in their potential and ability to press into what God has for them. To become who they were created to be and to continue to fan the flame that was ignited during their time together in the DR.

Here’s to the future!

  1. I am happy to share with you the way God is blessing and working in Morocco. My name is Mohamed Ahmach I am from Morocco. I am married and have a son. I thank God for His love and salvation for me and my family. In 2009, I accepted Him as Lord and Savior of my life, and from this time, my family and Idedicated our lives to God’s Kingdom and His work in my country. We started a house church with a group of believers. God has also opened the door for me to study theology in order to deepen my understanding of His Word. I help the brothers in my country in spiritual matters. In our hearts, we think of oursmall group as “family” and our large group as “brothers” so that we can work together as one heart in order to share with our countrymen. Brothers, please remember us in your prayers. Please pray for:
-God to bless my country, and save it from every evil.
-God to protect our small and big groups so we can testify the truth without fear.
-God to protect people who are searching for the truth.
-God to bless His work in Morocco.
Thank you for your love and prayers.
    Blessings
    Mohamed
