We completed our first day of our Dominican Republic mission trip. The people here are beautiful and very loving. There is a genuine warmth about them. Most of the people I met seemed excited to see us. They were appreciative that we had travelled such a long distance to be with them and serve them.
A lot of us started the day with a prayer walk through the village of Cerras de Mogollon. At our first house, an older woman asked us to pray for her. She had been suffering from foot pain for years. We laid hands on her and asked the Lord to heal her and make her whole. We continued and spoke with and prayed for a number of other people.
In the afternoon, we did a sports ministry with the children of Cerras de Mogollon. As soon as the balls and bats came out, the children showed up. A number of the parents came to watch. We were able to pray over several of them.
The marriage seminar was a huge success! The church had record attendance. In fact, we were told that this was the most Dominican men who had ever been in the church at one time. The Holy Spirit was definitely there. A number of challenges were thrown at us, but the Lord helped us overcome them and deliver his message.
It was a long day, but very rewarding. We saw God in the smiling faces of the children. We saw him in the preaching of the local pastors Manuel and Rigoberto. And we saw him in the love of the congregation.
Please continue to pray for us. Satan hates the successes of the Lord. Satan is certainly working in this country. Witch doctors still exist here and have power in the small villages. Please ask God to continue to give us guidance and strength and to be the vessel of his love
